University Interior Renovation
The owners of this small 1943 home love to entertain and wanted a way to open their home while keeping the small scale charm. To create a more appealing entry point, enhance the use of spaces, and to make better connections to the kitchen while hosting we swapped the location of the living room and dining room. We designed a double sided fireplace between the two rooms providing an anchor within the home. The family’s unique whiskey collection is on display at the new bar in the dining room. The heart of the home is always the kitchen, and by reconfiguring the kitchen layout we were able to provide an opportunity to bring in more light at the East side of the home. We added new windows on the exterior wall and opened up a previously enclosed basement stair with new guardrail, allowing light to extend all the way through the kitchen and living room.
